:HRS), the world leader in cockpit digital moving maps for military aircraft, announced today that it has been awarded a $5.1 million Lot 2 production contract by the U.S. Navy to provide Tactical Airborne Moving Map Capability (TAMMAC TAMMAC Tactical Aircraft Moving Map Capability ) Digital Map Computers (DMCs) for U.S. Navy, U.S. Marine Corps, and U.S. Army aircraft. Last year Harris was awarded a $4.3 million initial production contract for the digital maps. The potential production value of the program for Harris could reach $75 million by 2011.

TAMMAC DMCs are currently used onboard the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps F/A-18E/F Super Hornet The Boeing F/A-18E/F Super Hornet is a carrier-based fighter/attack aircraft that entered service in 1999 with the United States Navy. The fighter has recently been ordered by the Royal Australian Air Force.  and the U.S. Army CH-47F Improved Cargo Helicopter (ICH See Intel Hub Architecture. ). Future aircraft to be outfitted with the TAMMAC DMC include the AH-1Z, the UH-1Y, and the AV-8B. The TAMMAC DMC provides pilots with two independent channels of real-time, digital moving map data and threat and terrain conflict overlays in various display modes, including and terrain elevation and overhead geo-referenced satellite imagery modes.
