 U.S. NAVY AWARDS HARRIS CORPORATION $9 MILLION
 ADVANCED COMMUNICATIONS CONTRACT
 MELBOURNE, Fla., Oct. 14 /PRNewswire/ -- Harris Corporation (NYSE: HRS) has been awarded a $9 million contract by the U.S. Navy's Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command to provide systems engineering and integration services for the Communications Support System (CSS).
 Under the agreement, Harris' Electronic Systems Division will provide engineering and integration support for CSS' automatically controlled radio frequency equipment and wide-area network that allow Navy tactical communication users to securely manage and distribute information in an accurate and timely manner.
 "CSS services will provide reliable voice, video, fax, real-time data, imagery, U.S. Navy-unique message formats, and file transfer capabilities to our naval forces," said Lewis Kling, vice president and general manager of Harris Electronic Systems Division. "This means the U.S. Navy will be equipped with the advanced architecture necessary to achieve interoperable communications both afloat and ashore."
 Work on the contract will be performed at the division's Palm Bay, Fla. and Alexandria, Va. facilities. Harris Electronic Systems Division is part of Harris Electronic Systems Sector. The sector conducts advanced research studies, develops prototypes, and produces a broad range of state-of-the-art systems for government agencies and commercial organizations worldwide.
