U.S. HOME ANNOUNCES BACKLOG UP 44 PERCENT TO $412 MILLION

 HOUSTON, Jan. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- U.S. Home Corporation (NYSE: UH) announced today its year-end backlog increased 44 percent to 2,704 units up from a backlog of 1,872 units at Dec. 31, 1992. The value of the Dec. 31, 1993 backlog increased to approximately $412 million from approximately $255 million last year. New orders in 1993 were 6,418 up 22 percent from 5,274 new orders taken in 1992. Fourth quarter new orders were 931, up 18 percent from 786 new orders in the fourth quarter of 1992. New homes delivered in 1993 totaled 5,586, up 11 percent from 5,015 homes delivered in 1992. New homes delivered during the fourth quarter of 1993 were 1,493 up 9 percent from 1,376 homes delivered in the fourth quarter of 1992.
