One who is released on parole.

 officials alleging he had been discharged from parole parole (pərōl`), in criminal law, release from prison of a convict before the expiration of his term on condition that his activities be restricted and that he report regularly to an officer.  without notice and that when the discharge was rescinded he also did not receive notice. The parolee alleged that the paroling authority discharged him from parole and then continued to treat him as if he were still on parole. The district court held that the officials' alleged actions violated vi·o·late

1. To break or disregard (a law or promise, for example).

2. To assault (a person) sexually.
