), a leading operator of integrated Tier-1 Internet exchanges and best-in-class network services, today announced that the U.S. State Department's Diplomatic Telecommunications Service Program Office (DTS-PO) has renewed its contracts with Terremark to provide a carrier-neutral Internet access solution to designated government locations overseas. Terremark currently services U.S. consulates and embassies in Asia, the Middle East and Latin America.

The Diplomatic Telecommunications Service (DTS (1) (Digital Theatre Sound) A digital audio encoding system used in movie and home theaters. Popularized by the movie Jurassic Park, the six-channel (5. ) provides telecommunications services for all U.S. Government activities conducted at overseas diplomatic and consular missions. The DTS-PO manages and implements a global DTS Network to provide responsive, reliable, secure, and cost-effective telecommunications services to DTS users. The customer base of the global DTS Network includes representation of nearly 50 distinct U.S. Government departments and agencies residing at over 260 locations worldwide.
