U.S. Catholic wins 27 awards; for an unprecedented third year in a row, U.S. Catholic earns top honors from the Associated Church Press.

For the third straight year the ACP (Associate Computing Professional) The award for successful completion of an examination in computers offered by the ICCP. It is geared to newcomers in the computing field. For more information, visit www.iccp.org.

 top award, singling out its "provocative covers and good variety of content." The judges also praised the magazine's "wonderful writing" and "great design" and said, "The publication is thought-provoking and insightful."

U.S. CATHOLIC won a total of eight awards from the ACP (including First Places for Joyce Rupp's piece on Celtic spirituality and Andrew Greeley's Sounding Board on cohabiting couples) and 10 awards from the Religion Communicators Council.

3rd Place General Excellence

General-Interest Magazine Catholic Press Association

The CPA (Computer Press Association, Landing, NJ) An earlier membership organization founded in 1983 that promoted excellence in computer journalism. Its annual awards honored outstanding examples in print, broadcast and electronic media. The CPA disbanded in 2000.  judges praised our "high quality in overall presentation" as "powerful." U.S. CATHOLIC's design was lauded for being "current" and for its "very creative composition and impact" The judges applauded the courage we showed in our just-war interview, "a daring excursion into some very unpopular opinion, ... a needed service to thinking Catholics."

U.S. CATHOLIC's nine CPA awards included First Places for Best Regular Column (Alice Camille's Testaments), Best Interview (with Michael Baxter Michael Arlen Baxter (born 18 May 1956, Ilford, Essex) is a British Government statistician. Education
