U.S. CAN CORPORATION NAMES USG'S CONNOLLY TO BOARD OF DIRECTORS

 OAK BROOK, Ill., June 24 /PRNewswire/ -- U.S. Can Corporation (NASDAQ: USCN) has announced the appointment of Eugene B. Connolly, chairman, president and CEO of USG Corporation (NYSE: USG), to its board of directors.
 Connolly, 61, has served as chairman of USG Corporation since 1990. He joined the company in 1958, and has served as president, COO and CEO of several of the company's divisions, including United States Gypsum Company, USG Interiors and others. Connolly served as an officer in the U.S. Navy, and in 1990 he received an honorary Doctor of Humane Letters from his alma mater, Hofstra University. He is a director of the National Association of Manufacturers and United Way of Chicago, and serves on the advisory board of Good Shepherd Hospital and the Kellogg Graduate School of Management, Northwestern University.

U.S. Can employs approximately 2,400 people at 17 locations in 10 states. Annual revenues are currently $450 million.
