U.S. Bank Supports Financial Education with Exhibit at Children's Museum of Northern Nevada.


CARSON CITY Carson City, city (1990 pop. 40,443), state capital, W Nev., in the Eagle valley; inc. 1875. The city is a trade center for a mining and agricultural area. State government is the major employer, and tourism is economically important. , Nev. -- The Children's Museum Children's museums are institutions that provide exhibits and programs that stimulate informal learning experiences for children. In contrast with traditional museums that typically have a hands-off policy regarding exhibits, children's museums feature interactive exhibits that are  of Northern Nevada now has a unique way to educate children about banking, with the new U.S. Bank/Langson Financial Center. The new center is a permanent exhibit where children will be able to fill out checks and deposit slips, open safe deposit boxes, distribute play money from behind a teller window and measure their height in dollars and cents.

Attendees at the ribbon-cutting event included Carson City Mayor Marv Teixeira, Julie Langson-Cowan and Gladys Langson-Veitch of the Langson Family Foundation, Ken Beaton, executive director of the Children's Museum, Ingrid Robinson, U.S. Bank branch manager in Carson City and Doreen Davis, U.S. Bank community development manager.

"We're proud to support financial education for our young people with this exciting new exhibit," says Jack Prescott, market president for U.S. Bank in Northern Nevada. "We think it's a wonderful addition to the museum."

The Children's Museum of Northern Nevada, located in Carson City, Nev. is a private non-profit educational center. It is dedicated to offering unique and innovative, hands-on learning adventures in the arts, sciences, and humanities, and to providing the joy of discovery to children and families from economically and culturally diverse backgrounds.
