U.S. Bank Sponsors Mexican Consulate Visit to Green Bay August 4 - 7.

GREEN BAY, Wis. -- U.S. Bank will host the Mexican Consulate of Chicago when it comes to Green Bay August 4 through August 7 at Washington Commons, 320 North Adams Street, to assist local Hispanics in gaining identification such as a passport or Matricula Consular. Thousands are expected over the four days and the Consulate, which comes armed with the necessary paperwork and equipment in its mobile van, hopes to issue up to 2,000 identification cards.

U.S. Bank will also be on hand with six Spanish-speaking bankers to offer banking information specifically designed for the Hispanic community.

It's important that people have a safe place to keep their money as well as have an inexpensive outlet to send it back to loved ones if needed."

U.S. Bank was one of the first financial institutions in America to accept the Matricula Consular as a form of identification when opening an account. In addition, U.S. Bank accepts the Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN), which makes it easier for individuals with non-resident status to open accounts. U.S. Bank has partnered with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and Social Security to educate consumers about the use of the ITIN. Consumers can get more information about the ITIN from their local social security office.

Many U.S. Bank locations have bilingual signage, brochures and no-cost banking seminars to make the banking experience more inviting to customers who prefer to do business in Spanish.
