U.S. BIOSCIENCE APPOINTS DEPTULA TO MARKETING POST

 WEST CONSHOHOCKEN, Pa., Jan. 21 /PRNewswire/ -- U.S. Bioscience, Inc. (AMEX: UBS) announced today that Barbara Deptula has joined the company as business unit director. In this new post, she reports to Alison Ayers-Ptaszek, vice president, marketing.
 Deptula, who holds a bachelor's degree in pharmacy from the University of Connecticut and a master's in business administration from the University of Chicago, was most recently marketing planning manager, oncology-related products, at Schering-Plough International. Previously, she was manager of new market development for the Lederle Laboratories Division of American Cyanamid.
 Based in West Conshohocken, U.S. Bioscience is a pharmaceutical company specializing in the development and commercialization of products to increase the survival and quality of life for patients with cancer and allied diseases. The company's portfolio includes a broad spectrum of cancer drugs, including four products in the late stages of development. One compound, altretamine, is marketed under the names Hexalen(R) in the United States.
