Managed Objects, a Business Service Management company, has announced that the U.S. Army Signal Command (USASC USASC United States Army Safety Center

) has selected Formula software after an extensive, yearlong evaluation of several potential solutions. Formula enables organizations to understand precisely how technology is impacting their mission-critical applications and services. The USASC is a service-based organization dedicated to preserving U.S. dominance in information technology by ensuring information superiority That degree of dominance in the information domain which permits the conduct of operations without effective opposition. USASC operates a central Army Network Operations and Security Center (ANOSC ANOSC Army Network Operations and Security Center ) at Fort Huachuca, Arizona, along with several dispersed Theater Network Operations and Security Centers (TNOSCs). The ANOSC provides a comprehensive, integrated, situational awareness and operational reporting capability of the Army's networks, systems, security devices, and designated applications. Because the ANOSC relies on information from the TNOSCs, Formula will bring IT management data from the TNOSCs together with data from the ANOSC--and continuously determine how all this information impacts the ANOSC's viewing and reporting capabilities.

The contract was awarded to Managed Objects' business partner, Veridian. Veridian is a leading provider of information-based systems, integrated solutions and services specializing in mission-critical national security programs for the intelligence community, the Department of Defense, law enforcement, and other U.S. Government agencies. It calls for an initial prototype based on two TNOSCs. The information will be presented in portal views. Moving forward, Formula's role may be expanded to include additional remote locations and integration with trouble ticketing, intrusion detection and information assurance systems, as well as non-IT devices.
