U.S. Army Signal Command Selects MapInfo's Internet Technology to Visualize Communications Network.

MapXtreme(tm) Mapping Server Enables Real-Time

Display of Critical Network Information

MapInfo Corporation (NASDAQ/NM:MAPS) today announced that the U.S. Army Communication and Electronic Command (CECOM CECOM Communications Electronics Command (US Army)

) has purchased eight licenses of MapXtreme, for installation in four U.S Army Signal Command (USASC USASC United States Army Safety Center

) facilities. MapXtreme, MapInfo's Internet server for deploying spatial information to multiple users, will enable real time display and visualization of the Army's communications network The transmission channels interconnecting all client and server stations as well as all supporting hardware and software. .

MapXtreme will be integrated within the USASC Worldwide Network View (WWNV), one of several global displays of critical status information essential for the protection of information systems and networks throughout the Army. WWNV identifies the status of routers and other pertinent network information that is then geographically displayed by latitude and longitude latitude and longitude
