U.S. Air Force Selects Telos to Implement Secure, Automated Health and Morale System; Automated Technology Will Enhance Phone System Connectivity, Increase Facilitating and Improve Operability, Efficiency and Capacity.


ASHBURN, Va. -- United States Air Force United States Air Force (USAF)

Major component of the U.S. military organization, with primary responsibility for air warfare, air defense, and military space research. It also provides air services in coordination with the other military branches. U.S.
 personnel will soon be making health, morale and welfare phone calls using an Automated Health and Morale System (AHAMS AHAMS Advanced Heavy Anti-Tank Missile System ), which will deliver faster, more efficient communications, thanks to Telos(R) Corporation. The Air Force, through the Network Centric Solutions (NETCENTS NETCENTS Network-Centric Solutions (US Air Force) ) contract, awarded Telos a $1.5 million contract, with $2 million in options to implement and maintain the automated system.

) calls for deployed personnel are manually serviced by operators. AHAMS will provide an automated capability to identify and authenticate authorized morale callers as well as an automated control of the time and frequency of morale calls.

The system will continue to deliver the same highly reliable service that manual attendants provide today, in addition to providing identification and authentication of personnel for HMW phone calls. The system will be structured to ensure compliance with Department of Defense (DoD) and Air Force policies while providing performance monitoring and enterprise network management controls.

Telos will lead a team of four technology vendors, including Electronic Data Systems (EDS (Electronic Data Systems, Plano, TX, www.eds.com) Founded in 1962 by H.
