U.S. personnel will soon be making health, morale and welfare phone calls using an Automated Health and Morale System (AHAMS AHAMS Advanced Heavy Anti-Tank Missile System ), which will deliver faster, more efficient communications, thanks to Telos(R) Corporation. The Air Force, through the Network Centric Solutions (NETCENTS NETCENTS Network-Centric Solutions (US Air Force) ) contract, awarded Telos a $1.5 million contract, with $2 million in options to implement and maintain the automated system. AHAMS will provide an automated capability to identify and authenticate authorized morale callers as well as an automated control of the time and frequency of morale calls. The system will continue to deliver the same highly reliable service that manual attendants provide today, in addition to providing identification and authentication of personnel for HMW phone calls. The system will be structured to ensure compliance with Department of Defense (DoD) and Air Force policies while providing performance monitoring and enterprise network management controls. "Telos' automated solution will be transparent to the deployed personnel making the HMW calls and will provide them with additional capabilities not currently available with today's manual system.
