U.S. Affairs annual 2003.


This is our annual U.S. Affairs issue, which includes facts on the 50 states, a two-page U.S. map, and our "State of the Union"--charts and graphs that provide a snapshot (1) A saved copy of memory including the contents of all memory bytes, hardware registers and status indicators. Our News Special (see pp. 6-7) examines hunger in the U.S. Although an estimated 34 million Americans do not get enough to eat, hunger is often considered a "silent" problem. Why is the most affluent nation on earth unable to feed its own people? Students will learn some of the reasons and also discover ways in which they can help combat the problem.
