 U.S. AND CANADA CAR AND LIGHT-TRUCK PRODUCTION CONTINUES TO TOP 1991
 DETROIT, March 19 /PRNewswire/ -- U.S. and Canada automakers have assembled 10.8 percent more vehicles in 1992 than the same period one year ago, according to the trade paper Automotive News.
 This week's estimated U.S. and Canada car production was 129,789, up 3.7 percent from the prior week and down 4.0 percent from the year-ago week.
 So far this year, 1,386,527 cars have been assembled in the United States and Canada, 2.7 percent below 1991.
 U.S. and Canada truck production is scheduled at 113,382, up 4.1 percent from the prior week and up 37.2 percent over the year-ago week.
 Year to date, U.S. and Canada truck production is 1,076,546, up 35.0 percent from the same period one year ago.
 U.S. estimated car production for this week is shared as follows: General Motors, 48.2 percent; Ford Motor Co., 27.9 percent; Honda of America Manufacturing Inc., 8.8 percent; Toyota Motor Mfg. Inc., 4.1 percent; New United Motor Manufacturing Inc., 3.8 percent; Diamond- Star Motors, 3.0 percent; Nissan Motor Manufacturing Inc., 2.3 percent; Subaru-Isuzu Automotive Inc., 1.1 percent and Mazda Motor Manufacturing (USA), 0.8 percent. All of Chrysler Corp.'s car plants were idled this week.
