U.S. AMBASSADOR TO VISIT TRADE EXPO.

GLENDALE - Coming on the heels of Gov. Gray Davis' authorization The right or permission to use a system resource; the process of granting access. See access control.  of a California trade office in Armenia, the U.S. ambassador to Armenia will get a preview of the international commerce that the new office will encourage today at Glendale's Armenian Trade Expo.

``The ambassador is familiar with the type of businesses in Armenia and he will see it demonstrated at the expo that California and Armenia have many trade possibilities,'' said Nick Hacopian, chairman of the Armenian Chamber of Commerce in Glendale, organizers of the expo.

California is the first state in the nation to open a trade office in a former Soviet republic, Scott said.

Today's expo will feature Armenian businesses selling products to California buyers. Products range from those of information technology companies to foods and beverages, Hacopian said.

Ambassador John Ordway Sergeant John Ordway (c.1775 - c.1817) , the youngest of ten siblings, was an important part of the Lewis and Clark Expedition across the United States. John Ordway was the only sergeant from the United States Army who stepped forward as a volunteer for the expedition.  is expected to discuss the impact of the new trade office on Armenia and America.

After visiting the expo, Ordway will speak at a Junior Achievement of Armenia meeting.

``Now that we know the trade office is a definite go, we are all able to speak more freely because we know that this is something that is becoming a reality,'' said Junior Achievement of Armenia coordinator Beth Broussalian.

Junior Achievement of Armenia is a chapter of Junior Achievement International, which promotes business education programs in foreign countries.

``We were all hopeful that the excitement of the ambassador's visit would coincide with the signing of the trade bill,'' Broussalian added.

Ordway was to start his day at 8:30 a.m., visiting the Armenian Trade Exposition exposition or exhibition, term frequently applied to an organized public fair or display of industrial and artistic productions, designed usually to promote trade and to reflect cultural progress.  at the Glendale Civic Auditorium Civic Auditorium is a name commonly used for a city's auditorium and/or arena. From 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. Ordway will address the board of Junior Achievement of Armenia.
