The Give As You Earn program saw donations top 50 [pounds sterling] million (C$122 million) for 2001/2002. The average annual contribution grew by 71% to 2,396 [pounds sterling] (C$5,846). Almost half the current contributors joined the plan after changes were introduced more than two years ago.

Those changes included removal of a 100 [pounds sterling] monthly ceiling and the addition of a 10% bonus to all payroll donations until April 2003.
