``I was 2 when my mom put me in a model search,'' says Jenna. ``It was just print and a commercial or two and then it was a lot of commercials and then it slowly evolved into movies.''

The actor's life: ``You get to meet a lot of great people and you learn a lot from them,'' Jenna says of her profession. ``When you're filming, it may be hard sometimes, but when you see yourself up on the screen, the price pays off.''

Watch your language! Actors, directors and crew on Jenna's projects have routinely paid into the ``Cussing Can.'' A four letter word costs the offender 50 cents to be paid directly to Jenna Boyd.

``I think my mom got the idea,'' says Jenna. ``It's the rules for everyone. David Spade owed me $15. On 'The Missing,' I made $120.''

``You're not getting my #$&S! money'' Two time co-star Tommy Lee Jones refused to pay the can. ``His daughter said, 'You know, Jenna, the reason he doesn't pay is because he wouldn't have a paycheck left,' '' relates Jenna.

But it wasn't like there was any four-letter friction between Jones and Jenna. At the wrap party for 'The Missing,' Jones gave his young co-star a silver and turquoise charm bracelet. ``It practically weighs your entire arm down,'' she says.

``Missing'' in New Mexico: Jenna and her mom recently returned from a five month shoot in Santa Fe and environs to shoot Ron Howard's latest about an 1800s plains family coping with the disappearance of older daughter Lily (played by Evan Rachel Wood).

``I got to ride horses, and it was a lot of fun to do,'' says Jenna. ``We had to have period clothes and they had to put fake dirt on me all the time. I was just a little stable girl.''

Where's the rink?: A figure skater since the age of 3, Jenna's film roles frequently take her away from skating competitions. While working on ``The Missing,'' Jenna located a rink to practice, but she still missed a meet.

``But I'm doing one in August,'' she says. ``I'm working on a really hard jump where you have to jump up, do a one and a half turn in the air and come back down.''
