The technology will allow Tyson Foods to customize documents, checks and reports with data output directly from their SAP applications. The initial applications for the Optio solution encompass several key business documents, including accounts payable checks and invoices. The Optio implementation will be completed in October, following the installation of SAP R/3(tm).

The Optio Enterprise Suite is comprised of OptioDCS (Document Customization Server), and OptioDesigner. OptioDCS is the dynamic rules-based document formatting and delivery server, enabling automated customization and delivery of application information for business documents, reports, checks and barcode labels. The server intercepts and interprets data streams from SAP applications, formats the data and distributes it as required throughout the enterprise. OptioDesigner is an easy-to-use Windows-based GUI (Graphical User Interface) A graphics-based user interface that incorporates movable windows, icons and a mouse. Tyson chose OptioDCS because of its flexibility to accept data from multiple information sources -- key to the company as they are migrating from legacy systems to a client server environment. Equally important was Optio's ability to segment data by specified variables through a conditional logic mechanism. With this, OptioDCS will intelligently print Tyson's logo or a subsidiary's logo on the appropriate checks, based on data contained within specified fields.

"We selected Optio because its features and flexibility best fit our needs," said Mark Hauser, Project Manager for Financial Applications at Tyson Foods. "The seamless integration of Optio solutions with SAP applications was an important factor in our decision. Optio's integrated solution allows us to leverage and capitalize on our investment in SAP applications -- now and into the future."

"We are pleased to add Tyson Foods to our growing list of SAP users," said C. Wayne Cape, president and CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization.
