North Tyneside Council is introducing alcohol designated orders to ban the consumption of alcohol on trains and stations in North Shields and Tynemouth.

After protests from local residents New York Post Office has been saved. However Marden Post Office will close on March 24, and Preston Road on March 27. No decision has been made about West Chirton.

INTERNATIONAL Women's day is being celebrated at the Linskill Centre, North Shields, March 8, 12.30pm-2.30pm.
