Speakers are Tamman Adi, director of the Islamic Cultural Center of Eugene, and Stan Taylor Stanley Brian Taylor is an Australian criminal, currently sentenced to life imprisonment after being found guilty of involvement in the 1986 bombing of the Russell Street Police Headquarters in Melbourne, Australia. , an LCC political science instructor. Adi will speak on Muslim life in the Old World, the perceived threat of terrorism in the West and how the occupation of Iraq affects these and other issues. Taylor will discuss the neo-conservative agenda in America. Adi is a Syrian-born computer scientist who taught in Jordan and Saudi Arabia Saudi Arabia (sä `dē ərā`bēə, sou`–, sô–), officially Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, kingdom (2005 est. pop. before moving to the United States in 1985. He is chief
scientist at a firm that markets a computer search engine based on his
design and the founder of the Islamic Cultural Center.
Taylor earned a doctorate in political science from the University of Oregon and a law degree from McGeorge School of Law. He taught business law at Oregon State University Oregon State University, at Corvallis; land-grant and state supported; coeducational; chartered 1858 as Corvallis College, opened 1865. In 1868 it was designated Oregon's land-grant agricultural college and was taken over completely by the state in 1885. and later practiced international law before joining LCC. The forum is sponsored by the LCC president's office, faculty and classified councils and faculty and classified unions. At the UO, a campus workshop Wednesday evening will address issues surrounding diversity and the aftermath of the war. "Local Faces, Global Fates" starts at 7 p.m. in the Alumni Lounge in Gerlinger Hall.
