The first program, "Ready for Life" is designed to educate parents, caregivers and the community by giving adults the tools they need to raise children who are socially and emotionally healthy, and ready to succeed in school and life. The workshops will: * Empower parents with the tools to help children reach their potential; * Promote to parents the importance of physical activity and how it can help their child grow stronger both physically and mentally; * Identify a variety of simple and fun "kid activities" that they can use with their child; * Use the Food Guide Pyramid Food Guide Pyramid n. MRPA will also offer a two-day workshop that will train adult professionals who work with youth on how to implement the nationally recognized program, "National Youth Congress[TM]." Professionals will identify the three stages of the National Youth Congress program and outline the necessary steps to make this program a success in their communities.
