Services for Kidney Disease Patients Enrolled in Kaiser Permanente or

in other Health Care Plans

) and the Southern California Permanente Medical Group (SCPMG SCPMG Southern California Permanente Medical Group ), the physician entity of Kaiser Permanente in Southern California, today announced that they have agreed in principle to create a new company to provide disease management services to kidney disease patients enrolled in managed care organizations.

Boards of both organizations recently approved the establishment of this new organization yet to be named.

The joint venture will deliver the complete range of specialized health care services necessary to manage the care of patients needing pre-dialysis and dialysis treatment to Kaiser Foundation Health Plan members and those of other health plans. The partnership links the largest integrated provider of dialysis services and products in the world with one of the largest and most experienced medical care organizations.
