Two new trustees join AFR board.


American Financial Realty Trust, a real estate investment trust focused on acquiring and leasing properties occupied by financial institutions, announced the appointment of Richard J. Berry and John R. Biggar to the Company's Board of Trustees board of trustees Politics The posse of thugs who oversee an institution's administration. See Board of directors. . Both men will serve as independent board members.

Berry currently serves as president and COO of Independence Capital Partners, a provider of back office services to various private equity funds. Prior to this, Berry was CEO of U.S. Tax Practice at Pricewaterhouse Coopers.

He serves on the Board of the University of Pennsylvania (body, education) University of Pennsylvania - The home of ENIAC and Machiavelli.

Berry holds a Doctorate of Business Administration from George Washington University George Washington University, at Washington, D.C.; coeducational; chartered 1821 as Columbian College (one of the first nonsectarian colleges), opened 1822, became a university in 1873, renamed 1904.  and a Master of Business Administration from Rutgers University. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Catholic University of America Catholic University of America, at Washington, D.C.; the national university of the Roman Catholic Church in the United States; coeducational; founded 1887 and opened 1889. .

Biggar is the former executive vicepresident and CFO of PPL Corporation, a publicly traded $6.2 billion utility and energy company. Biggar was a member of the board of directors of PPL from October 2001 until March 2007. He also serves as a member of the Board of Trustees of Lycoming College, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree. Biggar also holds a Jurist Doctorate from Syracuse University College of Law Syracuse University College of Law (SUCOL), founded in 1895, is a professional school of Syracuse University in Syracuse, New York. It is one of only four law schools in Upstate New York (the other three being Albany, Buffalo, and Cornell). .
