Two new modifiers for PP fibers.

, Tarrytown, N.Y. Irgasurf HL 560 is a hydrophilic hydrophilic /hy·dro·phil·ic/ (-fil´ik) readily absorbing moisture; hygroscopic; having strongly polar groups that readily interact with water.

 additive that gives PP fibers a long-lasting wettable effect. It makes PP nonwovens absorb up to eight times their weight of water. It also adds antistatic properties, reduces friction, and increases the softness and comfort of diapers, adult incontinence pads, and feminine care products.
