Two little ducks help make the going easy.

Byline: Neil Hodgson

LUFTHANSA has opened a new first class lounge for business and private passengers flying out of Manchester at its Munich hub.

The pounds 6m facility includes its own passport control and security check, free wi-fi in four business units, a smoking lounge, massage service, three showers and bath - complete with ducks in traditional Bavarian garb - a limo service and 46 different cognacs to choose from during the wait for connections.

Little wonder the German carrier has been voted Europe's best business class airline in the 2007 World Travel Awards.

Lufthansa UK and Ireland general manager Marianne Sammann said: "This proves Lufthansa's investment in our new business class product on European routes has been successful in meeting the needs of the freguent business traveller"

Munich is also the only airport in the world to boast its own brewery.
