Two found dead at home in Springfield.

A man and a woman died in an apparent murder-suicide A murder-suicide is an act in which an individual kills one or more other persons immediately before, or at the same time as, killing himself.

The combination of murder and suicide can take various forms, including:

Neighbors said the male had moved into the house as a renter about a week ago. They said the homeowner had rented space in his residence to various roommates and there had never been any signs of drug use or other problems in the house.

"They were really clean kids, both of them," next-door neighbor Frank Storm said. "It's just shocking. You would never have expected it from them."

Another neighbor, Mary Urquidi, said the homeowner, who was not home at the time, had been renting out a room in the house since his mother moved out several months ago. She said the neighborhood is quiet, tidy and relatively crime-free.

Police were called at 1:23 p.m. to a reported dispute, Springfield Police Sgt. Brent Brent, outer borough (1991 pop. 226,100) of Greater London, SE England. The area is a rail and industrial center. Its manufactures include automobile parts, clocks and watches, and electrical equipment.  Carpenter said. When officers knocked on the door, they saw a man look out a window and ordered the man to open the door.

A short time later they heard gunshots, Carpenter said.

As the Springfield SWAT team prepared to enter the residence, they saw a body in a bedroom. When they entered around 3 p.m. they found the other body.

The preliminary investigation determined the two had a personal relationship, but further details were not immediately available.

Late in the evening, the shadows of homicide homicide (hŏm`əsīd), in law, the taking of human life. Homicides that are neither justifiable nor excusable are considered crimes. A criminal homicide committed with malice is known as murder, otherwise it is called manslaughter.  investigators working inside under bright lighting could be seen on white sheets that had been hung over the home's windows. Televisions glowed in the windows of homes on either side.
