Two area banks hit by robbers.


Byline: The Register-Guard

Two banks, one in Eugene and one in Springfield, were robbed late Monday morning in apparently unrelated crimes.

A man presented a demand note at the High Street branch of Continental Bank in downtown Eugene and escaped with an undisclosed amount of money, Eugene police said. The man was last seen walking west across the bank's parking lot, police said.

He is described as a white male adult, about 6 feet tall with slender Slender

Bank of America (NYSE: BAC TYO: 8648 ) is the largest commercial bank in the United States in terms of deposits, and the largest company of its kind in the world.
 branch inside the Safeway store on Pioneer Parkway East in Springfield. A man presented a demand note, displayed no weapon and left on foot, Springfield police said.

The robber is described as a white male, about 45 years old, between 5 feet 10 inches and 6 feet tall, and weighing between 175 and 200 pounds. He was wearing khaki khaki (kăk`ē, kä`kē) [Hindi,=dust-colored], closely twilled cloth of linen or cotton, dyed a dust color. It was first used (1848) for uniforms for the English regiment of Sir Harry Burnett Lumsden in India and later became the  shorts, a red short-sleeve shirt and a tan bucket or fishing hat. He was carrying a black satchel.

The FBI is investigating both robberies.
