The two physicians have been convicted of forging a patient's approval to undergo a surgery. The man sustained a chronic physical disability due to the surgical blunder, the High Court of Appeal First Instance heard. The father filed a complaint with the Public Prosecution in 2004, Executive Prosecutor Amina Isa said. The son was then admitted to the Salmaniya Medical Complex after suffering a right leg atrophy. The second defendant told him that he needed a surgery in his right leg, as per the written approval. To his surprise, the indicted doctors flouted the initial approval and subjected him to a surgery on both legs, impairing him physically. The first defendant admitted forging the patient's approval. The coroner examined the patient and concluded that his left leg was in no need for a surgery.
