These two appointments bring the number of directors on the Board of ML Resources to seven -- four outside directors and three inside directors. "Dr. McClain is a knowledgeable and successful leader in the national and international economic community and brings a wide range of experiences and acumen to our Board," said Buyers. McClain, a specialist in Asian economic issues, has been with the University of Hawaii since 1991. He holds a Ph.D. in economics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Massachusetts Institute of Technology, at Cambridge; coeducational; chartered 1861, opened 1865 in Boston, moved 1916. It has long been recognized as an outstanding technological institute and its Sloan School of Management has notable programs in business, (MIT MIT - Massachusetts Institute of Technology ) and has taught at MIT's Sloan School of Management and Boston University, where he chaired the Department of Finance and Economics and was founding director of the Japan Management Development Program. He is currently the U.S. government representative to the APEC APEC in full Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Trade group established in 1989 in response to the growing interdependence of Asia-Pacific economies and the advent of regional economic blocs (such as the European Union and the North American Free Trade Area) Business Management Network, and served as Chair of the Network from 1997-2000. McClain is also Co-director of the University of Hawaii East-West Center APEC Study Center, a member of the Board of the National Association for Business Economics, and a member of the National Business Economic Issues Council. McClain's writings have been published widely in professional journals as well as in the national financial news media. Kugle has been Executive Vice President and General Counsel of C. Brewer and Company, Ltd., for more than two decades. He also served as President of ML Resources from 1986 to 1992 and was the Chairman and President of Mauna Loa Macadamia Nut Corporation The Mauna Loa Macadamia Nut Corporation is an American manufacturer of macadamia nuts, a subsidiary of The Hershey Company, and is the worlds largest processor of macadamia nuts.[1] Since 2004,[2] they are a subsidiary of The Hershey Company. from 1983 to 1991.
