Two Affiliates Have 50th Anniversaries.

At the 2000 AEC in Denver, NEHAs council of delegates passed resolutions honoring the 50th anniversaries of the Indiana Environmental Health Association (IEHA) and the Montana Environmental Health Association (MEHA). We reprint the resolutions below.

Resolution to Acknowledge the 50th Anniversary of the Indiana Environmental Health Association (1950-2000) Whereas:

* the Indiana Environmental Health Association (IEHA), a NEHA affiliate, is observing its 50th anniversary;

* IEHA has provided educational, training, and networking opportunities for thousands of environmental health professionals over the past 50 years;

* IEHA promotes public and environmental health in the state of Indiana; works closely with other environmental and public health protection agencies, departments, and organizations; and encourages the professional development and technical proficiency of all personnel working in the field of environmental health;

* IEHA strives to improve and maintain the quality of the environment of the state of Indiana for its citizens and visitors;

Now be it therefore resolved:

* that NEHA recognize the efforts of IEHA and

* that NEHA officially recognize the IEHA at its 50th Fall Educational Conference in September 2000.

Resolution to Acknowledge the 50th Anniversary of the Montana Environmental Health Association (1950-2000) Whereas:

* the Montana Environmental Health Association (MEHA), an affiliate of NEHA, is observing its 50th anniversary;

* MEHA has provided educational, training, and networking opportunities for thousands of environmental health professionals over the past 50 years, thereby helping them to provide a more healthful environment for all;

* MEHA strives to improve and maintain the quality of the environment of the state of Montana for its citizens and visitors;

Now be it therefore resolved:

* that NEHA congratulate the Montana Environmental Health Association on the occasion of its 50th anniversary and

* that NEHA commend MEHA for its numerous contributions to both the practice of environmental health and the enhancement of overall public health.
