The game was nominated for the prestigious 2007 "Best Made for Mobile" Game by the GSM Association (GSMA), the trade organization that represents cellular phone operators, as well as manufacturers and suppliers of cellular telephony products as well as winning top honors at the German Developer Awards.

ANNO 1701 Mobile was shortlisted within the Best Made for Mobile Game Category, demonstrating Twistbox's success in pioneering the revolutionary and first-of-its kind European game that allows for mobile integration with PC play. ANNO 1701 Mobile lets users transfer points won during mobile game play to their PC game. Additionally, ANNO 1701 Mobile is the first mobile title to feature video cut scenes on select high end 3G handsets - functionality which to date has only been included in PC and Console games. ANNO 1701 Mobile, which was launched in October of 2006, is already available mobile operators across Europe.
