The TC86 conical twin screw extruder is said to be the proven solution to high-volume, low-shear, homogenous melts, especially with problem materials. The conical screw technology is said to handle high fiber loading, natural fiber blends and sensitive materials, delivering high quality homogenous melt at outputs up to 2,200 lbs./hr., according to the company. The TC86 uses large conical twin screw technology to bring unique compression and low-shear mixing capability to an unmatched material processing range, according to the manufacturer. The TC86 is said to deliver high output homogenous melt from blends of natural and synthetic fibers, heat- and shear-sensitive thermoplastics, recycled plastics, coupling and nucleating agents, pigment and other additives. Created using proprietary engineering and machining technologies, the TC86's large diameter screws (176 mm tapering to 86 mm [6.9" to 3.4"] with a 27:1 L/D ratio) are said to optimize the feed zone surface area for faster, more uniform heat transmission from the screws to the material.
