When Isabella Swan moves to Forks, Washington to live with her father, she doesn't expect to get caught up in life-altering events. But then, she hadn't met Edward Cullen. He's extraordinarily beautiful, with a voice to die for. He possesses unparalleled grace and walks the hails with an irresistible air of mystery. Bella is drawn to him, first unconsciously, then with intent. Edward is drawn to her as well but he understands the danger, for Edward isn't human and Bella's blood smells all too sweet. Kadushin's reading heightens the inherent sensuality of the story. Although there is no sex, the level of intimacy between Bella and Edward is sweet and breathtaking. Although Kadushin succeeds in providing Edward with an enticing voice, it is too feminine to fully appreciate his power. Bella, however, is all teenager, complete with the requisite emotional see-saw. The contrast between them is stark and deliberate but when Bella has to make choices, it's clear that she knows her own heart and mind. Kadushin is completely in touch and in tune with the narrative.
