Tutu to receive degrees in Toronto.


Archbishop Desmond Tutu of South Africa, will receive two honorary degrees in Toronto in February. Archbishop Tutu will receive an honorary doctor of laws Noun 1. Doctor of Laws - an honorary law degree

 degree from the University of Toronto Research at the University of Toronto has been responsible for the world's first electronic heart pacemaker, artificial larynx, single-lung transplant, nerve transplant, artificial pancreas, chemical laser, G-suit, the first practical electron microscope, the first cloning of T-cells,  on Feb. 15. His acceptance speech is entitled, Justice, Memory and Reconciliation. It will be the keynote address in the first international symposium organized by the Munk Centre for International Studies The Munk Centre for International Studies, part of the University of Trinity College, a federated college of the University of Toronto, is devoted to the study of numerous issues of international significance. .

The next night, Archbishop Tutu will be awarded an honorary doctor of divinity Noun 1. Doctor of Divinity - a doctor's degree in religion

doctor's degree, doctorate - one of the highest earned academic degrees conferred by a university
 degree from Trinity College. His acceptance speech will be this year's Romney Moseley memorial lecturer, named for a Trinity associate professor who died in 1992.

Trinity Provost Thomas Delworth said, "Archbishop Tutu is really a super person to do the Romney Moseley lecture. No one could be better qualified."
