Tutor-Saliba was the contractor when a fire swept through a Metro Rail maintenance tunnel last July, creating $2.2 million in damage. The subway's $1.4 billion first leg, set to run from Union Station to Wilshire/Alvarado, will open in fall of 1993. Tutor-Saliba, which subcontracts more than 30 percent of its subway jobs, is responsible for all construction and finishing works at the tunnels and stations, as well as mechanical, electrical and painting and landscaping. |
