Turner Broadcasting Acquires Runaway Bride, Deep Impact, The Truman Show, Forrest Gump and Others in Film Deal With Paramount.

Continuing its unparalleled pursuit of contemporary motion pictures for premieres on Turner Network Television Turner Network Television, usually referred to as TNT, is an American cable TV network created by media mogul Ted Turner and currently owned by the Turner Broadcasting System division of Time Warner.  and TBS Superstation, Turner Broadcasting System Turner Broadcasting System, Inc. (often abbreviated TBS Networks or TBS, inc.) is the company managing the collection of cable networks and properties started by Robert Edward "Ted" Turner from the mid-1970s to the late-1990s. , Inc. (TBS, Inc.) has secured television rights to 19 theatrical titles from Paramount Pictures, it was announced today by Brad Siegel, president of general entertainment networks, TBS, Inc.

A runaway bride is a bride who runs away from the wedding chapel, usually shortly before the ceremony, often due to so-called cold feet.

Those ten titles are: The Truman Show, The General's Daughter, 200 Cigarettes, Snake Eyes, Start Treck Insurrection, Neil Simon's Odd Couple II, Sliding Doors, The Wood, A Night at the Roxbury and Payback. The other five titles are A Simple Plan, Hard Rain, The Out-of-Towners, Deep Impact and Runaway Bride.
