Turkish Airlines and Jeppesen Sign Agreement for Carmen Crew Pairing and Carmen Crew Rostering.

GOTEBORG, Sweden -- The fast-growing Turkish Airlines has signed a long-term agreement with Jeppesen for two crew management products eAE Carmen Crew Pairing and Carmen Crew Rostering. The airline has already successfully operated with crew pairings optimized by Jeppesen since June 2006.

According to Dr. Temel Kotil, president and CEO of Turkish Airlines, the new solutions will support the airline during a period of strong growth and bring significant cost savings that will increase its competitiveness. "We have achieved a substantial amount of savings by operating pairings from Jeppesen's Service Bureau. Now we can speed up the planning process and reduce the operating cost even further. In addition, the powerful and easy-to-use simulation capabilities will help us maintain the day-to-day efficiency of the operation. We have already used the flexibility of the system to test, and implement, our crew pairing rules."

Turkish Airlines is a rapidly expanding airline in Europe. In 2006 alone the airline has purchased 59 aircraft from Airbus and Boeing (the next-generation Boeing 737-800, A320 and the long-haul A330).
