Tufts University Becomes Clinical Training Affiliate of Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine.

University to Provide Clinical Experience as Part of Ross University Students' Final Three Semesters of Veterinary Education

EDISON, N.J. -- Ross University announced that the Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University will begin offering clinical training to Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine students as part of their final three semesters of education. The addition of Tufts brings to 22 the number of American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA)-accredited schools affiliated with Ross University.

Having awarded more than 2,000 doctor of veterinary medicine degrees since opening in 1982, Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine offers comprehensive veterinary training modeled after United States programs. Students spend the first seven semesters of pre-clinical training at Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine's campus, located in the Caribbean country of St. Kitts/Nevis, before returning to the U.S. for three semesters of clinical training at an affiliated, AVMA-accredited school of veterinary medicine.

As an affiliated institution, Tufts University will provide Ross University students a total of 48 weeks of training at its Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine in North Grafton, Massachusetts. Ross University students will be subject to the same academic standards as Tufts University students. After completing their clinical training, Ross University students will be eligible to sit for national licensing exams.

The following AVMA-accredited schools are currently affiliated with Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine: Auburn University, Colorado State University, Cornell University, Iowa State University, Louisiana State University, Michigan State University, North Carolina State University, Oklahoma State University, Purdue University, Texas A & M University, The Ohio State University, Tufts University, University of Florida, University of Illinois, University of Minnesota, University of Missouri, University of Pennsylvania, University of Tennessee, University of Wisconsin, Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, and Washington State University.
