Having awarded more than 2,000 doctor of veterinary medicine degrees since opening in 1982, Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine offers comprehensive veterinary training modeled after United States programs. Students spend the first seven semesters of pre-clinical training at Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine's campus, located in the Caribbean country of St. Kitts/Nevis, before returning to the U.S. for three semesters of clinical training at an affiliated, AVMA-accredited school of veterinary medicine. As an affiliated institution, Tufts University will provide Ross University students a total of 48 weeks of training at its Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine in North Grafton, Massachusetts. Ross University students will be subject to the same academic standards as Tufts University students. After completing their clinical training, Ross University students will be eligible to sit for national licensing exams.
