Trump teams with Cappelli on luxury high-rise.For the second time in one year, the World's most prominent developer, Donald J. Trump, is joining forces with Westchester's most prominent developer in creating a luxury high-rise residential building. Louis R. Cappelli, whose partnership with Trump has resulted in the creation of the highly successful Trump Tower at City Center luxury condominium in downtown White Plains, announced that he is again joining with Trump in the construction of Cappelli's new high-rise tower in downtown New Rochelle New Rochelle (rōshĕl`), city (1990 pop. 67,625), Westchester co., SE N.Y., on Long Island Sound; settled by Huguenots 1688, inc. as a village 1858, as a city 1899. Although mainly a residential suburb of New York City, it has some light industry. The house where Thomas Paine lived has been preserved.. Trump Plaza and will be part of a $750 million downtown urban redevelopment plan that encompasses Parcel 1A and the Lawton Lawton, city (1990 pop. 80,561), seat of Comanche co., SW Okla.; inc. 1901. It is a commercial and trade center for the surrounding cotton, wheat, and cattle area. Fort Sill is the largest local civilian employer. Lawton's industries include machining and the production of baked goods, meat, rubber products, apparel, and steel. Cameron Univ. and the Museum of the Great Plains are in the city. Nearby is a large limestone quarry and the Wichita Mts. Wildlife Refuge. Street Redevelopment District. Ground will be broken shortly for Trump Plaza that will rise more than 390 feet and offer spectacular views of Long Island Sound Long Island Sound, arm of the Atlantic Ocean, c.90 mi (145 km) long and 3–20 mi (5–32 km) wide, separating Long Island, N.Y., from the SE New York mainland and Connecticut. On the W the East River joins it with New York Bay. The sound is fed from the north by the Housatonic, Connecticut, and Thames rivers. The Long Island Sound is a popular leisure-boating center. New Haven, New London, and Bridgeport, Conn.. It will be built on a two-acre site on Huguenot Street, formerly known as Urban Renewal Parcel 1A, which the City has been seeking to have redeveloped for more than 30 years. The building will be one of the tallest in Westchester County. The announcement of Trump's investment into the emerging downtown New Rochelle housing market comes on the same day that other good news came for New Rochelle: Cappelli also announced that he had reached an agreement with the City to redevelop a full downtown Urban Renewal District block opposite the Trump Plaza. On that site, known as the Lawton Street Urban Renewal District, he plans to build an approximately 800,000-square-foot mixed use development. The project includes hotel, office, retail and luxury residential housing uses. Combined with Trump Plaza, the new project will provide a vital link in creating a defined, interconnected downtown. The 353,600-square-foot Trump Plaza will consist of 141,500 square feet of retail space on two levels at the base, topped with the 30-story luxury residential condominium tower. There will be 181 residences--51 with one-bedroom, 101 with two-bedrooms and 29 with three-bedrooms. Private Parking for the residence will be provided on-site. |
