TrueTime, Inc. The XLi delivers extremely high precision outputs for a wide range of synchronization requirements demanded by government applications including secure defense and intelligence communication systems, satellite ground stations, military test ranges and other critical government communication systems.

Operating as a GPS timing receiver, the XLi can track up to 12 GPS satellites providing 1x10-12 frequency output accuracy and better than 30 nanoseconds accuracy to the world's 24-hour timekeeping system -- Universal Coordinated Time (UTC) and the United States Navel Observatory (USNO). The GPS receiver takes full advantage of the long-term stability of the GPS systems to steer or "discipline" the receiver's local oscillator.

TrueTime designed the rack mountable XLi as a customizable and modular solution to meet a wide variety of demanding applications. The XLi which can operate as either a GPS receiver or a Time Code Unit, can combine up to 10 plug-in option boards as well as oscillator upgrades and two power supplies for maximum versatility. The unit can provide, with options, an unprecedented array of outputs; 1PPS (1, 5, 10MPPS), IRIG-B (A, E, G, H, Xr3/2137 and NASA 36), Serial I/O, T1, E1, Low Phase noise (5, 10 MHz), NTP, and others.

To ensure performance in contingency situations, every XLi option, including power supplies and GPS receivers can be configured for redundancy. Also, configuration recognition software automatically detects the unit's setup without modifications to the operating system to provide a "plug-and-play" configuration for current and future application needs.

For telecommunications networks, the XLi can also accommodate a plug-in card that provides timing signals meeting the requirements of ITU-T G.703/G.704. When the clock is configured with an appropriate high stability oscillator option, the XLi meets the requirements of ANSI T1.101-1993/g.811 pertaining to primary reference source operation.

For synchronizing secure government servers and workstations across the network, accurate time is generated by the host XLi and distributed over the network using the Network Time Protocol (NTP). To accomplish this, the XLi features the industry's first network centric interface with Telnet, DHCP, NTP and SNMP as standard features. This together with a brilliant "at a glance" fluorescent display and 16-key keypad, makes the XLi one of the most robust and flexible time and frequency systems on the market today.

Available as a plug and play option, a low phase card can be added to the XLi to provide four isolated, 50-ohm frequency output signals with exceptional spectral purity. In addition, an optional upgraded clock oscillator such as OCXO, Hi stability OCXO or Rubidium is also available.
