Business Editors/Hi-Tech Writers

ROSSLYN, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 13, 2001

TrueArc(TM), a leader in the intelligent classification, storage and retrieval of electronic communications, and FileNET Corp. (Nasdaq: FILE), a leading provider of Business Process Management software solutions, announced today that their integrated solution - FileNET's Panagon(TM) Content Services 5.1.1 and TrueArc(TM)'s Foremost Enterprise 2.0 - has been tested and certified compliant with the DoD 5015.2-STD, the U.S. Department of Defense standard for electronic recordkeeping systems (ERS).

Tricilities Technologies, LLC, a leader in delivering integrated information management solutions, and RMC Consultants, Inc., an experienced integrator in the government market, coordinated the certification of both products to ensure compliance for their customers using these products.

Organizations deploying an integrated ForeMost/Panagon solution can manage the security, versioning and lifecycle of important content in compliance with the DoD 5015.2 standard. The certification widens the options for organizations needing the tracking and tight control on access and manipulation of content that TrueArc(TM) delivers.

Panagon provides sophisticated repository features, including storage, versioning, security, compound document support, replication and rendition services. The combined system delivers a powerful solution to the challenges associated with sophisticated records and retention management.

"The ForeMost/Panagon integrated solution allows users to seamlessly manage all their content with robust records management, archiving and disposal capabilities and to more effectively capture the knowledge within their organizations," said Russ Stalters, president of TrueArc(TM).

"RMC/Tricilities excel in developing solutions to help government agencies deliver compliant and complex records management systems to their various audiences, and we are pleased that they've chosen ForeMost as a key component in many of their successful projects."

"The integration with TrueArc(TM)'s ForeMost Enterprise product once again demonstrates how Panagon's enterprise content management platform delivers solutions that provide real benefits in terms of instant access to information," said Michael W. Harris, senior vice president, Products and Strategy, at FileNET.

"Both government and commercial customers will realize the value of using a content management solution that meets the most stringent set of records management criteria to manage their mission-critical information."

"As we work with federal, state and local government agencies to design effective electronic records management solutions, we must ensure that the technologies we implement are DoD certified," explained Charles A. Colon, III, vice president of operations for RMC.

"Panagon and ForeMost are robust products that offer many benefits to our customers, so we were proud to assist FileNET and TrueArc(TM) in this certification process to ensure our joint solutions meet the needs of our customers and comply with the strict DoD standards."

About DoD 5015.2 - STD

DoD 5015.2-STD is the accepted design criteria for electronic records management software applications, defining the mandatory operational, legislative and regulatory requirements that must be met by records management application products that are acquired by the Department of Defense.

To receive DoD certification, a product must comply with 147 rigorous mandatory requirements and provide the infrastructure for a corporate file plan that includes all forms of electronic and physical documents and a retention plan that incorporates both time and event-driven disposition instructions.

The Records Management Application (RMA) Certification testing was performed by the Defense Information Systems Agency's Joint Interoperability Test Command. The JITC performs certification of RMA products for compliance with DoD 5015.2-STD. It is DoD policy that only certified products be acquired by DoD organizations.

The National Archives and Records Administration has endorsed the JITC RMA Certification Testing Program.
