Trolltech Appoints Renowned Industry Veterans to Management Team; Benoit Schillings Appointed Chief Technology Officer and Dr. Karsten Homann Appointed VP of Professional Services.

SAN JOSE, Calif. -- Trolltech(R), provider of leading technologies that make advanced software faster to build and easier to use, today introduced two new members of the Trolltech management team. Benoit Schillings, co-creator of the Be operating system and former CTO of Openwave, has been appointed to the newly created position of chief technology officer (CTO). Dr. Karsten Homann, long-time Siemens executive and former vice president at Siemens Mobile Devices, has been named vice president of Trolltech's new Professional Services Organization. The addition of Schillings and Homann further strengthens Trolltech's management as the company rapidly expands to meet the increasing demand for advanced cross-platform application development software on the desktop and in embedded Linux environments.

Benoit Schillings, Chief Technology Officer

As Trolltech's chief technology officer, Benoit Schillings will be responsible for leveraging Trolltech's existing technologies and services in addition to strengthening the company's ability to bring new technologies quickly to market.

Mr. Schillings was a principal contributor to the launch of Be Incorporated, where he designed, developed and implemented the technically acclaimed BeOS. More recently, Schillings comes to Trolltech from his position as CTO at Openwave Systems where he was responsible for the structure, design and operation of Openwave Phone Suite Version 7. In 2003, he was named Distinguished Engineer for his influential work in the conception of "top to bottom" integrated software for mass-market phones.

In his newly created role, Dr. Karsten Homann will spearhead Trolltech's professional services organization (PSO). He will be responsible for designing an organization that offers training, engineering integration and consultancy services in close cooperation with Trolltech's existing partners.

Homann comes to Trolltech from his former role as vice president, Next Generation and vice president, Software at Siemens Mobile Devices, where he was also responsible for the global definition, implementation and customization of a Linux based portfolio of products. He holds a PhD. in computer science.
