Trix Systems announces TracTrix for AutoCAD software; Links directly to AutoCAD Release 14's new raster image engine.

CHELMSFORD, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 1, 1997--Trix Systems, developer of raster editing and conversion software for CAD users, today announced that it will ship a companion product to its existing TracTrix for CAD software. The new product, TracTrix for AutoCAD, takes advantage of the newly announced raster capabilities of AutoCAD Release 14 software.

TracTrix for AutoCAD integrates directly with AutoCAD Release 14 to provide bidirectional conversion between rasters and vectors. Existing drawings of any size can be scanned and converted to AutoCAD vectors. AutoCAD DWG file formats can be converted to raster files for archiving or release control. Rasters can be edited, cleaned-up and annotated. TracTrix is the first software to create vectors from color originals. CAD users in GIS, Earth Sciences and Technical Documents often need to create vectors from color boundaries on maps or illustrations.

The software will be available on Windows 95 and NT and is expected to ship shortly after AutoCAD Release 14. Price worldwide is expected to be $950.00.
