Following successful implementations of Triversity's Transactionware Enterprise in Okinawa, Japan, DFS (Distributed File System) An enhancement to Windows NT/2000 and 95/98 that allows files scattered across multiple servers to be treated as a single group. With Dfs, a network administrator can build a hierarchical file system that spans the organization's LANs and  Group, the world's largest duty-free retailer, has now gone live with Transactionware Enterprise in Hainan, China, as the company's implementation of Transactionware Enterprise continues. The installations have included different store formats, from airport stores to a flagship DFS Galleria store with 85 registers, all running on the same point-of-sale (POS) solution.

With a framework that fully incorporates the J2EE (Java 2 Platform, Enterprise Edition) A platform from Sun for building distributed enterprise applications. J2EE services are performed in the middle tier between the user's machine and the enterprise's databases and legacy information systems.  (Java 2 Enterprise Edition) standard, Transactionware Enterprise is the most cost-effective, feature-rich Java-based solution available today for POS and customer touchpoint applications throughout the enterprise. Transactionware Enterprise includes an easy-to-use configuration tool and business rules engine that allows configuration of business logic without custom programming, with the ability to instantly deploy changes to all points of customer interaction for unmatched flexibility and agility in an enterprise POS solution.

DFS Group is deploying Transactionware Enterprise running on the IBM (International Business Machines Corporation, Armonk, NY, www.ibm.com) The world's largest computer company. The combination of Transactionware Enterprise and IRES supports both the Japanese and Mandarin Chinese character sets, and DFS has used the same core set of data in both countries, enabling rapid implementation. The unique, business-rules based configurability of Transactionware Enterprise allowed the solution to quickly and easily adapt to new countries, languages, tax rules, and government requirements. Transactionware Enterprise also handles a mixture of duty-free and duty-paid purchases within the same physical store environment, a key requirement for DFS. For the Okinawa implementations, Transactionware Enterprise easily integrated with AsiaPay, Japan's leading EFT (electronic funds transfer See EFT.
