Transactionware Enterprise and IBM's new Linux offering help to

reduce costs, simplify support for Linux-powered Point of Sale

Triversity Inc., the leader in customer-centric retail solutions that enhance the Customer Experience and improve operating efficiencies, today announced that Transactionware Enterprise is available for the new IBM Retail Environment for SuSE Linux.

Triversity customers can now take advantage of the flexibility and scalability of Transactionware Enterprise for on-demand retailing at POS, wireless and other in-store devices, all powered by IBM's retail-tuned SuSE Linux operating system software. The combination of Transactionware Enterprise and the IBM Retail Environment for SuSE Linux can lower the total cost of ownership of next-generation POS solutions while providing predictable costs and a safe, stable support and upgrade path. Triversity will demonstrate Transactionware Enterprise running on the IBM Retail Environment for SuSE Linux at booth #1921 at the NRF Convention, Jan. 11 - 13 at the Jacob Javits Convention Center in New York City.

"I believe the new IBM Retail Environment for SuSE Linux gives retailers a new level of stability and assurance in deploying Linux solutions, thanks to IBM software enhancements, support and maintenance," said David Thomas, president and CEO of Triversity Inc. "This will help further the rapidly growing acceptance of Linux in retail, and Triversity is pleased to announce the immediate availability of Transactionware Enterprise on IBM's new Linux solution for retail."

Transactionware Enterprise is the most cost-effective, easily deployed J2EE (Java 2 Enterprise Edition) solution available today for Point-of-Sale (POS) and Point-of-Interaction applications in the retail enterprise. Transactionware Enterprise is the first and only Java POS solution designed from the ground up to harness the power of J2EE. Its highly scalable, open architecture allows retailers to deploy solutions ranging from true thin-client to thick-client systems, on up to massively scalable enterprise server environments that handle billions of transactions per year.

The availability of Transactionware Enterprise on the IBM retail Linux solution continues the close integration of Triversity solutions with IBM software. The Triversity Enterprise Framework contained within Transactionware Enterprise integrates with IBM's J2EE infrastructure, including IBM WebSphere Application Server 5.0, IBM WebSphere MQ, and IBM DB2 Universal Database. As a result, Transactionware Enterprise can leverage the IBM software stack for applications that span the retail enterprise -- from head office to store servers to the full range of customer touch points, including point-of-sale (POS) systems, kiosks, and the Internet.
