Triton PCS Selects Comverse Mobile Data Gateway Version 4.0 To Enhance And Expand Subscribers' WAP Services.

NEW YORK -- Comverse, a unit of Comverse Technology, Inc. (NASDAQ: CMVT), and the world's leading supplier of software and systems enabling network-based multimedia enhanced communication services, today announced that Triton PCS has selected the Comverse Mobile Data Gateway (MDG) Version 4.0 to enhance and expand the carrier's subscribers' WAP services.

The MDG Version 4.0, which is fully compliant with the Open Mobile Alliance (OMA) WAP 2.0 standard, enables operators to manage increased network data traffic and services. The MDG has a built-in, OMA-compliant push proxy gateway (PPG). Among its many features, the PPG provides confirmation as to whether the push message has reached its destination. The MDG ensures interoperability by supporting all relevant bearers, protocols and terminals.
