Triton Network Systems(TM), a provider of broadband broadband

Term describing the radiation from a source that produces a broad, continuous spectrum of frequencies (contrasted with a laser, which produces a single frequency or very narrow range of frequencies).
fixed wireless network products, today introduced a 622 Mbps LMDS (Local Multipoint Distribution Service) A digital wireless transmission system that works in the 28 GHz range in the U.S. and 24-40 GHz overseas. It requires line of sight between transmitter and receiving antenna, which can be from one to four miles apart  Invisible Fiber(TM) SONET OC-12/SDH STM-4 radio.

Triton Network Systems is the first company to offer a carrier grade OC-12 product for field use.

The OC-12 radio operates at 622 Mbps with 99.999 percent availability and a bit error rate of less than 1x10-12. The OC-12 radio delivers the equivalent of 336 traditional 1.5 Mbps T1 circuits, or 8064 phone lines, over a single radio link connection. The LMDS "A" Band (28 GHz & 29/31 GHz) OC-12 radio deployed in true SONET ring The architecture used in SONET technology. SONET rings, known as "self-healing rings," use two or more transmission paths between network nodes, which are typically digital cross-connects (DCSs) or add/drop multiplexers (ADMs).  consecutive point networks gives broadband fixed wireless a new level of capacity and performance.

"NEXTLINK sees important market applications for OC-12 consecutive point network 'invisible fiber broadband wireless' rings," says NEXTLINK chief technology officer, Doug Carter. "NEXTLINK is moving forward in being the first to trial Triton Network Systems' LMDS OC-12 product in order to meet the ever increasing demand for bandwidth."

"We are excited to be able to satisfy our LMDS customers' need for greater bandwidth," said Skip Speaks, president and chief executive officer of Triton Network Systems, "and we can easily introduce OC-12 product variants at other frequencies due to the inherently flexible design of our architecture. The very high speed, carrier grade reliability of this newest member of our product family will enable our customers to provide large capacity, high quality broadband communications and Internet access See how to access the Internet.  to many end users."
