Tripath Class-T Audio Amplifiers Chosen by Sharp for LCD TVs; TA2024 Family Is Featured in 4 New Flat Panel Televisions for European Markets.

SAN JOSE, Calif. -- Tripath Technology Inc. (Nasdaq:TRPH TRPH Total Recoverable Petroleum Hydrocarbons ), creators of Class-T(R) Digital Audio Amplifiers, announced today that its TA2024 will power Sharp's new LCD television lines for European Markets.

The Tripath Class-T TA2024 digital audio amplifier, producing 15W stereo sound, is featured in Sharp's latest LCD TVs with screen sizes ranging from 22 to 37": Models include LC22GA3E, LC26GA5E, LC32GA5E, and LC37GA5E.

Tripath's Class-T 1-bit digital audio amplifiers are also currently integrated in other flat panel display A thin display screen for computer and TV usage. The first flat panels appeared on laptop computers in the mid-1980s, and the LCD technology became the standard. Stand-alone LCD screens became available for desktop computers in the mid-1990s and exceeded sales of CRTs for the first time  products of Hitachi, Samsung, Sanyo, Toshiba, Sony, and Fujitsu General. By delivering high efficiency, and low heat dissipation at an active price, Tripath continues to lead the rapidly growing LCD and plasma display markets.

"We are continuing to acquire new customers for our products in the LCD and PDP (1) (Plasma Display Panel) See plasma display.

"Tripath's digital amplifiers offer the flat panel display market proven solutions and strong roadmaps for continued development."

About Class-T 1-bit Digital Audio Amplifier

Tripath's 1-bit digital audio amplifiers rely on a fundamentally new approach to amplifier design that uses semiconductor-based amplifiers that provide significant performance, power efficiency, size, weight and cost advantages over traditional amplifier technology. Instead of conventional pulse width modulation See PWM. , Class-T employs multiple signal processing techniques, including adaptive/predicative processing, noise shaping, pre- distortion and delta-sigma modulation. Together these patented improvements give fidelity equivalent to traditional linear amplifiers while preserving the efficiency advantages of switching amplifiers.

Tripath will be demonstrating new products and solutions for flat panel displays along with other new digital amplifier products at the 2005 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, January 6th through the 9th. Tripath's display will be at booth #21839 in LVCC LVCC Las Vegas Convention Center
LVCC Las Vegas Country Club
LVCC Liverpool Victoria County Championship (England, cricket)
LVCC Lakewood Village Community Church
LVCC Lucas Valley Community Church (San Rafael, CA)
