Trinity Energy Resources' Position Advances in Chad.

Business/Energy Editors

HOUSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 1, 2002

In December 1999, Trinity Energy Resources Inc. (Trinity)(OTCBB OTCBB

of project expenses. Upon execution of the Farmout Agreement with Trinity, Cliveden carried forward with obligations associated with concession exploration and development. In addition to other concession exploration activities, Cliveden has acquired approximately 1250 line miles of seismic data, consistent with obligations of the concession.

By way of background, prior to Trinity's gaining concession rights, a consortium led by ExxonMobil (then Exxon) had registered exploratory success in the Republic of Chad, with notable discoveries in the Lake Chad Noun 1. Lake Chad - a lake in north central Africa; fed by the Shari river

2000, the World Bank agreed to support the building of a pipeline from Chad Chad (chăd, chäd), Fr. Construction of the pipeline is ongoing and current scheduling indicates that pipeline facilities should be able to accommodate exports by the end of 2003. Additional information on Exxon-Mobil's Chad to Cameroon oil pipeline project can be found at the project's Web site (www.esso.com/eaff/essochad/), as well as that of the World Bank (www.worldbank.org/afr/ccproj/)

In anticipation of oil pipeline startup, ExxonMobil is currently underway with the drilling of development wells in Southern Chad's Doba Basin. It is expected that as many as 300 development wells will be drilled in three key fields (Bolobo, Kome and Miandoun) discovered in earlier ExxonMobil drilling campaigns. Some estimates associated with recoverable reserves from just these fields indicate potential recoveries of up to 1 billion barrels. Other discoveries have also been noted in the Lake Chad region (Sidigi Field) approximately 400 miles northwest of the Doba Basin Fields. It is important to note that Trinity's Permit H concession is geographically in close proximity to much of Exxon's exploratory and development activity in both the Doba Basin and Lake Chad regions.

In February 2002, Cliveden entered into an agreement with EnCana Corporation EnCana Corporation is one of the largest independently owned oil and gas companies in the world. In both 2003 and 2004 it was Canada's most profitable company, with approximately $3.5 billion (U.S.) in profits on $12.2 billion in revenue.  (then Alberta Energy Corporation), a $30 billion international oil and gas company based in Calgary, Canada. EnCana was formed in April 4, 2002 via the merger of Alberta Energy and PanCanadian Energy (re: www.encana.com). While terms of the agreement between Cliveden and EnCana are being held confidential, we understand the budget for exploration programming, including seismic data acquisition and analysis, and other related activities, including the drilling of exploratory wells, will exceed $10 million over the course of the next 12 months and could reach $50 MM by early 2004. Drilling of exploratory wells by EnCana is expected to commence in 2003, with at least one well planned by the end of 2003 to test favorable fa·vor·a·ble

While Trinity's 5% working interest / 4.375% net revenue interest position may be considered small, it is nonetheless notable to point out that Trinity's position, with proximity to the ExxonMobil development areas, is substantially greater in areal extent than that of ExxonMobil's. It is feasible to expect that Trinity's position may yield reserves equal to or greater than those indicated to date in the adjacent ExxonMobil blocks. In the event exploration and development of Permit H yields discoveries and reserves equivalent to the preliminary reserves indicated by ExxonMobil activities, Trinity's 4.375% net interest could yield a minimum 43.75 million barrels of recoverable oil. Additionally, we understand open access to the Chad-Cameroon oil pipeline by all concession holders was a condition of World Bank financing. Thus, we are hopeful, assuming Encana continues its exploration and development program commitment, that Trinity shareholders could start realizing revenue from its Chad concession prior to the end of 2005. Given these new developments, Trinity is instructing its auditors to undertake a review of the Company's assets, as stated in periodic quarterly and annual reports.
